It's one of those words people who don't know much about Japanese use, up there with 'Baka' and 'Konnichiwa'.

You can't "stick" with something if you were never with it to begin with.

And it doesn't matter if it's .org or anything else (I'm not too savvy with the URL meanings anyways; I was just coming up with the name).

No? Well lets figure out what sort of feel we're going for. What do we want the name to convey, and what words convey that.

Well, if we're going to keep the same tone as the old site, I thought we could keep more modern; like with a catchy name. We don't have to have a slogan like before to go with the name, but something like that would probably be better.

Something that captures the "feel" of the old thread, but is completely it's own, you know?

And just so we not all just spouting out names, we should at least comment on previously mentioned names so we can get some kind of feedback.

That said: I thin Animeopia doesn't really roll off the tongue well. Animeopolis is better, but they both based off a relatively old and worn sort of terminology that I think we should stray from.

Well we are trying to come up with a name that fits the site but is also not descriptive on what the site is. Easier said than done for sure....

Besides the powers that be created this thread just to get a huge list of potential names together fast.

I am willing to wager they will pick the best of these names for when they go try to get the new domain.

They have already stated elsewhere (in the new banner contest thread) that they will not release the new name till the new site becomes operational.

So all we should do in this thread is simply list our thoughts as to what the new name should be. This is not a deciding thread.
