noey closed down the site cause his google adsense account was banned so he wasnt going to make money anymore and just gave up
other anime sites get dmca notices and all they do is comply with it and remove some anime and nothing bad happens.
even if JD got a dmca complain all noey had to do was comply with it and remove the anime it listed and JD would of lived, but he just didnt want to deal with it cause he had no profit to gain.
so there you have it, the real reason why JD shut down

this was started in 2012....... da fuck..... if this is true, most of us were none the wiser.

so did the staff have any clue noey tried to do this?

the people i'm talking to on skype (not staff, but have been with JD for years) didn't know about this...

the difference between adsense and those 2 are huge. he probably didnt even want to bother with it anymore given that he even tried to sell the site before

He's asking for proof that the DCMA was propaganda. So far all you have shown is that he put the site up for sale at one point. That could mean a number of things. At the very least it says he was probably never a very motivated site owner and was never about getting the site off his hands but several members of the staff offered to take over for him (or so I heard) and he declined so if his only goal was to wipe himself clean of the site he would have no reason to refuse.

Be nice if a staff member could come in for a few words to get everything to calm down.

This was posted right when Mega went down, before JD merged with Dubbinz. Of course, he would want to get rid of it at that point.

morningfever, I don't know who you are, but it is really low to post "truths" without Noey being here to verify. This is pure garbage. You have no idea what is going on with Noey and are just looking at old documents for theories.

The picture in the first post could easily have been photoshopped. I am not saying whether I think it is true or not, but without anything else, I think that this claim doesn't have enough evidence to back it up.

There are people out there who enjoy anime. If they have the skills and are willing to take the risks, that is their decision. It may not be yours, but it is theirs.
