animeultima is hosted in the Netherlands and dmca requests aren't recognized there. the only reason it says registered in the US is because dynadot is an American company. still they can't be sued because AU is not owned by Americans. not to mention dynadot has hundreds if not thousands of legit sites that would sue the gov't for far more than megauploads casualties and actually have a good chance of winning if they went down. which is why the sued only megaupload and not hostgator which was the true host of MU's servers.

still this is a bigger problem for AU than this site since they could experience slowdowns because of this. so I'll pass this along to the AU admins just so they know it's not our doing.

Just because the registrant lives in another country doesn't mean the domain is immune to take down notices. The company IS an American company and still obligated to follow our laws.

The admin in charge of the fake site is just asking to get owned by the fed's by using a name that is a hot topic right now

Plus since their videos do work you can actually use them if you want. At least for however long they stick around.

I actually went into the site chat for a bit and the summary of the conversation is. Noey is a jerk who tried to sell the site and a noob who couldn't resist a DMCA (Poor Noey) and the Admin is quite confident he can keep from getting taken down. So I guess only time will tell.

My thoughts exactly. He seems to think avoiding a DMCA is like swatting a fly and seems to be looking down on Noey for giving into it. It's not like other sites haven't been forced to bend to DMCA's will (onemanga is an example and Mangafox takes stuff down all the time to stay alive). Really the bigger you become the harder it is to fight those claimes.

wow yea went over to see and this admin is saying how hes the judge jury and executioner and how he did all this by himself and wont ever get a staff because he is going to do it all by himself...

He doesn't need a staff because the whole site is a skin over an existing anime site.

Well to be fair JD started out as a simple site run only by Jenna. Noey and other staff were only added later to cope with the growing site.

It's pretty noticeable actually. Considering what content they already have on the site and the date the domain was registered. There's no way they threw all of that up in just 2 days.

Is it strange for me to actually want to take a look at at this site from a Graphic Designers point of view? I actually wouldn't be suprised if I'm able to find more than a few differences and or errors.

That is stupid. I'm not saying this out of hurt feelings because noey lost the site, I mean it is actually stupid, as in the admin is devoid of any intelligence for taking the name of a site just taken down, doing the exact same thing that got it taken down, and becoming a pompous ass about it. That is just like robbing a bank that someone robbed two weeks ago with a bigger gun, claiming that for some reason you aren't going to get caught, while using the same schematics that another thief uses. I dislike the Admin who ever they may be.
