Fairy Tail Anime's TV Run to End

ANN confirmed that Kodansha's TV Magazine announced on Friday that the Fairy Tail anime's television broadcast run will end on March 30. The adaptation of Hiro Mashima's Fairy Tail fantasy adventure manga premiered on Japan's TV Tokyo station in October 2009.
The April issue of Shueisha's Jump Square magazine is revealing on Monday that the Driland anime will begin a new run in Fairy Tail's current Saturday 10:30 a.m. timeslot on April 6.
However, Mashima posted a statement to fans on his official Twitter feed on Saturday:
Until the time comes, I cannot say something I've always wanted to say, even on Twitter. Please be patient and wait until the time comes for me to announce some good news.
Crunchyroll has been streaming the Fairy Tail series as it airs in Japan. Funimation released the anime's fourth part on DVD and Blu-ray Disc in North America in February 2012.
Del Rey published 12 volumes of the original manga in North America, and Kodansha resumed publishing the manga with the 13th volume in 2011. The 38th volume of the manga will include an original anime DVD in a special-edition bundle in Japan on June 17.
The original manga's story began with a teenaged girl named Lucy Heartfilia who aims to join the world's most notorious mage guild, Fairy Tail. During a daring rescue, Lucy encounters Natsu "Salamander" Dragneel, a quirky Fairy Tail member and a teenaged practitioner of the ancient Dragon Slayer magic. Lucy is eventually welcomed into the Fairy Tail guild as she, Natsu, and other members go on various quests together.

MAL has listed Fairy Tail as 171/175. They will have to make a new series if it will continue and start at ep 1. I dont think MAL ends a series unless their 100% sure.
Anyways ima start reading the manga then -_-

It would have caught up to the manga in no time and then it would have been months and months of fillers, I'm sad but glad they're doing this. Give the manga a few years to go on then the anime will come back.

I'm sure its only hiatus. It's a lot more popular than Gintama which has taken like 3 breaks to date.

yeah Fairy Tail has popularity rivaling the top Shonen last I heard so I don't think they are ending it due to lack of popularity. last I checked on the manga (back in about November I think) They had barely started the magic tournament. Well The anime has well passed that point and anime always moves faster than the manga so I imagine if they didn't end it they were going to have to go to filler soon anyway and with them hitting the true limit of the manga they might have even been forced to full a Naruto on us just to keep the show going. I'm only half guessing since I haven't checked up on the manga in a while but if it really was that caught up I'd rather they stopped for a while and resumed once the manga progressed a few more arcs.
Fairy Tail is far from my favorite Shonen but I don't hate it either. So I hope they don't take too long to start back up again.

When I checked on the manga last month it wasn't very far ahead of the anime at all. I was honestly expecting another filler soon, maybe a continuation of the last one. Taking a break just seems depressing.

Been going through other anime forums and all the One Piece fanboys are happy as can be right now. But why all the hate from them? Did they really feel Fairy Tail was a threat to One Piece?

I'm a fan of both. I don't really care for the ranking, as long as I enjoy it.
Anyway, hopefully it'll come back a while later. I really like watching it.

yea, iv only seen season 1, and im pretty sure there will be more, this show wont end till it ENDS, AKA, natsu dies (permanently?)
