New Site for JD community

As I am sure you are aware ex-JD staff members have been working tirelessly to create a new home for everyone. We have now got to the stage to begin sending out invites to the new site(s). Please bear in mind we are still in the testing stage and are still working to develop your new home.

To receive your invite to this new site, send a Private Message to me titled "Invite" (click my name then click the contact tab for the link to private message me) in the message area supply me with your avatar name and email in this format:

name,name@email.com (example: steveyk,steveyk@mail.com)

If you receive your invite in the spam/junk folder please click "not spam" as this tells the email you use how to treat mails from this domain in the future.

Please be aware that yahoo.co.uk emails are currently not receiving mail via the invitation script we are using, while we can manually add you outside the script we would recommend using another email and then changing your email address after registering.

You can also start inviting friends yourself once registered but as the statement above points out some emails do not get sent invitations. So please bear this in mind. If you do not receive your invitation within 24 hours please contact me so I can manually add your account.

The instructions are a little unclear, at least to me on the formatting of this. Is everything supposed to go in to the subject line? Like Invite name,name@email.com or are we putting our avatar and email in the BODY of the message.

Again the instructions seemed a bit unclear.

On *name removed* -stevey there is no way of sending PMs or VMs.

On *name removed* -stevey there is no way of sending PMs or VMs.

Communication is limited on said site for a reason, the community will exist on the public site mentioned in you invite email. So no you won't be able to contact people on that site. Although we may be able to work something out for site issues that may popup.

This I was not expecting. Questions, why not just send out an invite to people here by PM? I mean if you want to make it less trouble for you then you could just ask em to post a comment asking for an invite then send the invite. I mean last time when we went here I got mine by VM though PM would be better for this case so I don't see why the trouble? Further more what's this about site'(s)? Is there more than one? If so why? Are we being split up? Also from what I read here why can't we contact (PM/VM) people on those new forums? I know you can't answer these out in the open so sending me a PM is fine but I do need to know what in the heck is going on here? I mean are we now abandoning this forum or what? Sorry for so many questions and hopefully that's all of em.

We're inviting people initially through this method. Over the next day I'll be checking through every user on this site and sending an invite via email and then a reminder in PM. If we bulk email everyone on the members list we could possibly get questionable people on the new site, which we're trying to avoid as the whole point of an invitation based entry is to be specific on who we invite. Mainly so we do not have a repeat of JustDubs.

Again, like stevey has already mentioned, anything else will be disclosed in PM if you have any questions.

I think it need to be reiterated. Everyone needs to send their info to Stevey for the registration process, even if you think you've registered before. Wait for an email after registration for further details.

1. The script invites people by email, it has nothing to do with this site.
2. As mentioned several times before you posted, all will be explained in the email.
3. we are currently looking for a new plugin for PM's the forums software is created for wordpress and is still in development.
4. These forums were always temporary.
