Psycho-Pass: Discussion
A thread for which discussion of the anime Psycho-Pass can take place. Enjoy.
- Spoiler:
- Just finished watching episode 18 of this and I have to admit this anime is really good at first I didn't like it that much but as time went by it started to get really good especially the episode when they found out the true form of the Sibyl System all I could say is WTF it reminded me a lot of terminator but way more creepy but it looks like the last 4 episodes are going to be really good because Makishima, Shougo has escaped and Kougami, Shinya has decided to step outside the law to get his revenge. The city might become a warzone for their showdown.

Glad this discussion is up. I started watching this from the beginning and it did start kinda slow but it got progressively better. And Makishima's a badass.

- ^I know he looks like a wimp but surprisingly has better combat skills than Kougami. I wonder what his plan is for his next massacre of the unsuspecting citizens.

Re: Psycho-Pass: Discussion
I had really high hopes for this one at the beginning, but it didn't live up to it. However, after episode 5 it began to get better with each episode and now it reached such level that I can't enjoy more! The last episode was unexpected and expected at the same time. That he would run out of MWBS(or w/e it is) I didn't expect, but that he will build up a real gun, was expected, tbh, I was even waiting for this moment. The episode was rather sad generally, but it was a nice build up for the next/final fight.

- Yea this episode was unexcitingly emotional then all of a sudden the hacker wanted to sleep with Kougami at first I thought it was just her messing with him but to my surprise Kougami actually responded.

I am on episode 7 and really enjoying the action and mystery to this anime. I hope they don't screw it up with romance. The theme of no freedom in advanced society is thought provoking.

No need to worry about romance

This anime I knew I was going to like even before its bio was released back when the art of the gun was the only available info. But it has surpassed what I thought it would have been like long ago.
I instantly liked this show, sure not much happened plot wise or anything for a couple of eps, but still the way it opened the show was great.

- Spoiler:
- Those helmets certainly were interesting, but Makishima's ability is just awesome. Criminal mastermind trying to bring about freedom from the sibyl system, not sure what I really think about him but for now he is a great character for beating the crap out of that weird chief lady. Who cares if it was only a body, she had it coming to her for what she did Kagari [I still hope he's alive, although it isn't looking good] and for screwing with the team in general.
And now Kougami's run away, so sad *sniff*, but I cannot say how proud of Akane I was for standing up to the chief when Ginoza couldn't.

- Yea Akane really is a badass she even knocked out Makishima and the development of the characters was almost executed perfectly. And I find myself hoping Makishima gets to destroy the Sibyl system.

For me, when I say new. I mean an anime that was recently released.

Well it's still airing and got released 20 weeks ago, so I'd say it's new in anime terminology But if you are talking about this season, then nope.

Re: Psycho-Pass: Discussion
This anime depending on the ending could rank in my top 10. It has the intellectual cat and mouse game, anti-heroes, corruption, science-fiction, and much action.
Akane's character development is coming along nicely. Kougami is a tortured, dark and mysterious stud muffin <3
Can't wait for the last few episodes!

Good description. I like this anti-hero thing a lot. Wish there were more like this ;o

The one thing with this anime though I wish the cases were more complex like in Death Note where it had that real intense physiological feel to it.

Considering there is only one more ep I don't think anybody else will die.

Not that I'm dismissing the possibility, but this is Gen Urobuchi we're talking about here.
His last animated story he blew up a city in the last episode. The one before that he blew up the world.
This last episode I'm pretty in the dark about considering all the things I thought I could predict either already happened or bummed me in the fuck.
- Spoiler:
- Kinda saw Redhead kicking straight off the bat.
When the writers swap the most socially likable character into the main group for seemingly no reason and send him off solo during the first mission that centers entirely on the series supposed main antagonist (where they're supposed to show off his power at its fullest), dude's gonna bite it.
DID NOT EXPECT THE SYBIL SYSTEM TWIST.
-Although I really kinda should have, because I'm a psych major, and well... Sybil. Although I'm almost certain it's more likely a reference to the greek Sybil(s).
Finally, Pops dying; obvious. Badass mentor characters either die or betray you. It's what they do.
Anyway, the only guesses I have left are that Akane might be revealed to be asymptomatic or show signs of it, at least one more MC dying (my money's on Yayoi, because I think that's really the only way she her barely developed character could stimulate the story), and finally I think (hope) the SS will go down. Gen likes to end his stories covered in chaos while focusing on just a tiny bit of hope he leaves in there.
All shots in the dark. All pretty high chances of not happening. Gen's always got me guessing in the end. although I don't especially like the endings he writes (Madoka, Fate/Zero, Saya no Uta).
