[SPOILERS] Film Club Discussion - P.S. I Love You

Oh boy, I remember seeing this movie a couple of months ago.
I'm not a fan of Hilary Swank, but I will admit, this made her look good.

What did you like and/or dislike about the film? Why?
I liked the premise.
Swank is a young widow grieving for her deceased husband, then she finds out that he has left her 10 messages in order for her to ease her pain and suffering.
I thought that was clever, it sets the mood and sets up a connection between us and Swank, we can relate to her and her struggles, and I really like it when films do this.

Was there something you did not understand in the film?
Not really, no.

Would you improve anything about the film?
I would probably replace Swank with someone like Keira Knightly.

Were you satisfied with the ending?
Yes.

What did you like and/or dislike about the film? Why?

It's my 4th time watching it. I blame my girlfriend for this Anyway, I think the amount of times I have watched already answers the question if I enjoyed. For those who doesn't understand, yes I did enjoy and a lot. I find this movie quite different from others, as here we see a tragic love and how a man can make his girl happy even when he's dead. The first time when I watched I didn't like how it ended... I was like, DON'T BE A BITCH, just look how much he did for you and yet you are going to sleep and live with his best friend? Well now I am more mature and I do believe it's better this way, then always think about the past and be depressed.

Was there something you did not understand in the film?

I think it's quite simple and easy to understand.

Would you improve anything about the film?

As Maddy said, I'd like to have different MC(girl). Keira Knightly would be awesome

Were you satisfied with the ending?

As I already mentioned, the first time not. But now I am.

What is your overall rating?

A damn great movie and different from other romance/drama genre movies. 10/10 for this kind of category. <- It was my nomination after all.

I liked the story as a whole, I liked the letters, I thought it was romantic and clever. I didn't like the ending really, although she did move on it was kinda sad for me.

It was pretty easy to understand.

That ending...

Were you satisfied with the ending?

Not really, I would have liked her to have ended up with someone else, for real.

Not a big romance fan but I did enjoy it so I think it's a 9/10

I don't normally like romance films but I rather enjoyed this film. I liked that it was different from most romance films in that it focuses on the moving on aspect of loss.

Overall, yes.
