First Anime Movie

What was the very first anime movie you ever saw? This is different from your first anime series.

For me it was 'Lensmen' followed closely by 'Akira'. I watched them on the very same night. Both was good but when I saw Akira I was blown away.

It was a Studio Ghibli Movie: Spirited away.

Spirited Away was awesome, yes it was.

im not sure it was defiantly a ghibi film either princess Mononoke, spirited away or howls moving castle although seen how princess Mononoke came out first it was probably that and i believe to be as awesome as spirited away

Hmmm... I think the first anime movie I've seen was either Pokemon or Ki Ki's Delivery Service.

i will have to watch kiki's been meaning to but never got round to it

for me it was probably a dbz movie or a street fighter movie i can't remember really which was first

Pokemon's first movie, the one with mewtwo and mew. That movie still makes be tear up close to the end. Poor Pikachu, why? why Ash? why?

Yep that scene I do rank up there as a touching scene.

i was thinking really hard about what was my first but than the pokemon movie was brought up and i realized Pokemon is technically an anime isn't it always seem to forget that, So mine was probably that good old pokemon movie from my childhood, i know it wasnt my first but i also have fond memories of the digimon movie

It was either the first Pokemon movie, the Digimon movie, or Kiki's Delivery Service..

Then again, I was only 6 when I saw it, and was a huge fan of Pokemon.
If we're going serious, then it'd be The Disappearance Of Haruhi Suzumiya.

Pokemon the movie. As a 7 year old kid or something. Damn was that a dream come true

It took a bit to narrow it down, but I think it was Kiki's Delivery Service. Still have it on VHS at my parent's place.

Either Pokemon first movie, or Spirited away.

Blood: The Last Vampire. It was 2001 and one of our TV channels was having a Japanese cultural day or something and come 2am they decide to put on this brilliant gorefest of an anime. Still remember it to this day.

It's probably because pokemon was the biggest thing when the majority of us were kids and it is also the only anime movie I can think of released in theaters in the US during my entire childhood. So a lot of us watched it before we even really knew what anime was. We just liked pokemon and wanted to see the movie.
