Animes with a live action movie

Ok the title says it all. This thread is about anime's that received a live action movie with real actors and actresses.

I know of only two so far.

The Guyver
(my personal favorite) Space Battleship Yamato

I liked the Yamato movie overall. However they screwed up the Iscandar part of the movie but that is only my belief. The special effects is what you would expect out of a Japanese anime and not a live action movie but I remember seeing similar effects from a Godzilla movie ... sigh. The acting was a little horrible and over the top at times. Overall the movie is exactly what I expected out of a Japanese made movie of this type.

I knew you'd know about Nana to Karou
The LA was pretty tame and dealt more with the feels of their arrangement.

Geez I forgot about the Airbender movie and yes I consider it anime even if its not in MAL.

Sigh ... I think I on purposely forgot about the DB Movie. I really love to hate that particular series.

I did not know about the others though. I am not surprised about Death Note but I pan not to search for it. Cool anime but I think it be too scary of a movie for my taste. I be really interested in the Rurouni Kenshin movie. Do you know its specific name?

its pretty good, but i might be a little bit biased with that one for personal reasons.

Oh yeah, I still need to watch the Rurouni Kenshin one. And I didn't know Mirai Nikki had one; that's pretty cool.

There's a live action of Kaiji. It's really good. I saw the live action first during a plane ride, and it convinced me to watch the series, which is also amazing (though the art turns people away from it).

don't get your hopes up. The MC from the manga isn't really on the live action one, imma guessing gasai yuno won't be in there too. Didn't really bothered to check it out when i've read the "a brand new diary user" part.

Geez after looking at the above movie posters I have an off-topic question.

Why is it when in the anime the off-color looks so cool but in live action it looks totally fake? Its as if they are going out of their way to make fun out of it.

Higurashi has 2 live action movies that were adapted from the first and last arcs of the first season.
They both suck though.

Dragonball and Death Note.

I've seen the Dragonball evolution one. Wasnt so good. Also seen abit of the rurouni kenshin one and clicked that away after few min. They should not make real movies from anime series....

Same goes for games. They just don't translate well.

I have to say that im enjoying One Piece pirate warriors though. There are some huge failures in it like skipping arcs and evry pirate subordinate is excactly the same, but its enjoyable.

The only ones which I can think of at the top of my head are Dragonball, Gantz, and Death Note.

I saw it...I found it a huge disappointment. For being a live action movie..yes it was better than most...but plot-wise...well...I could've done better.

The problem I find with live action movies based off animes are one of two things:

1)...they either stick to closely to what the fans are familiar with...ie...avatar the last air bender....that was pretty much the entire first season...and Soka only made one joke..and it was lame.

OR

2)...when they try to go for their own concept...it flops...like Dragon Ball Evolution did....terrible directing, writing, and editing.

I really don't think that any of the people who write the scripts or directs the movies really ever do any serious research. Like come on...with all the advancements in technology, a live action anime still feels like a really lame episode of Power Rangers.

Nana movie 1 and I think there was a 2nd one.

Death Note has 3 movies

Still there is Megaman (Fan made) and Sonic (Also fan made, only 18 or so mins and is terrible. 2 years and that's the best theey can do)

There IS a Dragon Ball movie too but I don't know anything about it except it's on YT and I don't know if it's fan made or not but from what I heard it was better than evolution and it looks MUCH older so yeah. :/

Oh yeah not sure but there might be a Negima movie too.

That aside though I'm surprised to see some of these such as Puella and S;G. Now I need to watch them someday.
