So far that is what I've been using, though I haven't done much with it yet. (as my sig shows) It is a picture that I cut off the sides and re-sized them. Putting the sides back on is really hard to do.

Gimp's pretty fun and useful. Just don't be too lazy and you'll get either something done or finished lol.
I've been needing to work on my avatar... for a few months now lol.

I use gimp too and if you use it correctly, it can be just as good (maybe better) than PS.

Yeah i have PS, thinking about getting GIMP, and Paint.Net can come in handy sometimes. It's like a watered version of PS.

Yeah I don't currently have Photoshop, but I might get it soon. The image is originally from a RocketDock skin used in Mr. GRiM's Win 7 Blade theme. I couldn't just resize it though because it loses quality. That is why I had to lop of some first. I don't know what I'm going to do with it yet though. Eventually, I'd like to make the whole thing animated.

What do you mean? I used GIMP 2. Not quite good, perhaps.

Looks awesome! Mind if I use it? I'm still going to try to make one that has a lot more effects and animation eventually.

I'd be careful though. tpb has a .se not a .mk . Also I hope that google links aren't taboo on this forum. (I know direct site links usually are)
Also I'm currently getting Photoshop and After Effects CS6

Almost did just that. Glad I did not for if I had I would have a piece of junk instead of a computer. Trouble with those type of sites they are usually infested with a host of viruses that can go around any virus protection software available. Its as if some people gets their kick out of making sure other people's computers gets fired up. I am very disappointed that this even particular post is even allowed on this forum.
