I turned it back on because I didn't see a point restricting it anymore. People were just looking at the members list "sort by post count" and telling who was in what place with post count. The spamming simply switched from, how many posts I have, to what place I rank in posts. if you could figure out a way to remove the post count option form the members list then I could enable points instead of posts. Points can be renamed to posts. Then it would allow me to restrict which sections you can obtain "posts"

Still don't care, nonsense is nonsense unless otherwise proven. I'm not even sure you read the post, this was about eliminating the post counts. So we're following the dictatorship of eliminating post counts. That totally exists guys.

something needs to be done to at least restrict post count some how. few people making 200-300+ posts per day is absolutely rediculous

I don't see why it makes people upset. Its a virtual number on a website. And if they're posting a lot, that only means high activity. There's already 5793 posts since the forum opened. sure a majority of them are asylum posts. But people are still here and posting, and that's all that should matter.

it bothers me just a bit because when I use a forum I like o actually have discussions about what the theme of a site is, (JD = anime/gaming), yes its good to have high activity as it draws more people in, but some do like having an actually topic worth discussing something other than being goofy all the time.

And I agree. But there is still plenty of serious topics to post in.

By being the one that mostly affected in this I feel I should put in my two cent worth. While I like the asylum section for the games I would not be apposed to whipping it out for post count sake so one cannot gain post count in that particular section. True most of my points would be wiped out by this change I have been posting in the other sections just not as heavily.

I agree that post count for rank should be restricted to all the other section besides the asylum section.

It would also mean my rank would probably be reduced from the highest to lowest but I can live with that because that is only fair in my eyes.

As I said I would not be apposed to some kind of restriction for the asylum post even if it were to wipe our most of my post count. What is fair is only fair.
