iv done this before, i did this in my gaming clan and we watched

but instead of skype, which was our original plan that FAILED HORRIBLY, we all decided to download or find a streaming source (in this case, youtube was available) and we all setup on teamspeak (JD could use an equivalent, Ventrillo, mumble, ect, or skype) and at the same time we all pressed play (latency is low on teamspeak so we were all within a second of each other, even people in other countries) so it was really good, and really fun.

the rules were, before we start, use the bathroom, if you get up, we are NOT waiting for you, pausing and unpausing would be to much hassle. use PTT, no random conversations with other people, or your burps/farts/whatever on mic, so Push-to-talk is REQUIRED (PTT). Also, try not to watch the trailors

im a coucil member (equivilant of moderator/admin, basicly, i have full control) on this clans teamspeak, so, if for whatever reason we decided to use it instead of skype, i can make and lock a room down for us.

all we need to do is decide a time, a list of movies to choose from, and its up to each person to obtain the movie in some shape or form (i recommend DLing as streaming can get....buffery)

Well, I've done this in my gaming community too and it worked wonderfully so I've had plenty experience with how good or bad they can go. And honestly its all about preparation.

perperation and participation, but, honestly, participation doesnt have to be huge, to many people watching a movie at once can ruin it, so, even if we only got 5, that would be awsome if not ideal, we did it with 4 people

also, idk if you have used TS recently, but TS3 latency is LOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW and really good, it might be peoples mics or the server itself, but iv found TS quality to be on-par with mumble now. i used to hate TS becasue it was crappy, ventrillo was much better. then i discovered Mumble and the low latency-high quality, then i learned TS3 had LOWER latency than mumble (by a tiny bit, its just a bit closer to instant communication, which is needed in FPS games) and still having HQ audio, so, if its been a while, try TS3 out

also, someone recording, would be awsome if someone could edit it into a fun little videos

Meh I dunno. I hardly ever watch movies any more but I might depending on what movie it is. Also dependent on a few things. Doesn't group calling in skype cost money? I don't have a mic or a cam so hope that's not a problem? The streaming site is free right? I hope people aren't going to be talking/laughing so load that I can't hear the movie?Kinda need a rule on that and finally the BIGGEST problem with this, we're not allowed to talk about skype. You just broke rule but I say this because of this rule not everyone is in JD skype group.

It seems a majority of your posts nowadays are coupled with complaining.



Also it's my Skype chat, not a "JustDubs" Skype chat. There just happens to be about 30 people from the forum there. There's a difference though.

I will admit that my posts at times can come off as me complaining but I'm not really complaining. For example the one you quoted that I quoted here was not at all a complaint. No just me talking and asking questions. So really I have no clue what posts your refering to here. :/

One last thing. Is there a way to increase the size of the movie for the group calling in skype? I ask because otherwise it'd be hard to see it so I'm hoping there's a way.

What I am sure we hope for, is that everyone has some kind of headphones, so we do not hear any annoying echoes while we watch. And we will be ustreaming it, so you do not need to watch it via chat either.

I actually don't have but one set of head phones and that's for my DS Lite. I doubt those would work for a comp.

Nah, it's been closed since November I think. We could always use Raid Call too if Skype doesn't work well for us. Since enough people expressed interest I'll go ahead and make a nomination thread for us in a minute.
