Since most people are beginning to get into VNs, or don't know what VNs are and want to try and give it a shot, here is a place where you can recommend said Visual Novels to people.
Feel free to list what you think would be good starters VNs, wait for a request, or simply come here and ask what to try out first.
And for those of you who are new, or have been playing VNs for awhile, and dont know where to look up some information, feel free to use VNDB, aka the Visual Novel Database. It is a place where you can search for visual novels, in any language that they are translated in. It works like MAL as well, where you can create an account and keep track of the VNs you played, are playing, dropped, on your wishlist, etc. You can search by tags that suite your tastes, or simply hit random till you find a translated VN or a VN that is not translated, and wish to add to your list.

VNDB:
http://vndb.org/

Note:
VNDB is not a place where you can download said VNs. You will have to either buy or torrent them from another place. VNDB does have links to places like Mangagamer for example.

Good luck, and recommending and playing.

I'm about to finish my current VN, and thus require a new one. A list of my currently played VNs to date are as follows:
Edelweiss and Edelweiss eiden fantansia.
G-senjou no Maou
Hinata Bokko
Hoshizora no Memoria.
Kanon.
Kira Kira.
Koihime Musou.
My Girlfriend is the President(Osananajimi wa Daitouryou).
Period(Not Finished, had to take a break from it. I enjoy it, but there is something about the characters, I suppose)
Pick me, Honey!
Shuffle!
Snow Sakura.
Wind-Breath of the heart-

I am trying to decide between Wanko to Kurasou, Kana Little Sister, or Flyable Heart. I am looking for insight on these three, but I'm also open to any and all suggestions(except maybe Suck My Dick or Die!-esque VNs).

Flyable Heart is currently being translated. The current machine translation is less than stellar

If you liked g-senjou I recommend Sharin no Kuni. They're made from the same company.
Maybe you should check out ef - a fairy tale of the two. It's an awesome VN Very Happy (I can't get enough of ef xD)

I had earmarked Sharin no Kuni, seeing as it looked really entertaining. I will probably play it soon, maybe after this one. I decided to get Wanko to Kurasou, probably due to cute animal ears...

I say one of the best VN's to read is Fate/stay night and or fate hollow which is still in translation.

Otherwise some of the other ones I recommend are:
Rewrite
Little Busters
Sharin no Kuni and the fan disc
Shuffle
katahane if you are into it
Maji de Watashi ni Koishinasai
g-senjou no maou

^ If you don't want a long game to start off with, none of those are a good suggestion except Shuffle

Yea, you do have a point. The first VN I read was fate/stay night, that is what got me into reading VN's.

Not sure if this is acceptable but i would recommend the Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke wo series.

It's an AVN (Adult Visual Novel), or Eroge, series which the focus on Yuri but it's got a great cast of characters thruout, has fantastic voice acting (albeit in Japanese but anyone who watches subbed animes or plays VNs reguarly knows that's not a problem in getting attached to them) which really fit each character, the artwork is good (probably average actually but if you like that sort of artwork as i do then it's good ain't it?) and is overall very enjoyable.

I've played thru each of the 8 English translated VNs (out of a total of 12 VNs so far) 3 times already and i've only had them since mid last year.

SonoHana is a pretty good series as each individual game is pretty short and it brings the theme of pure love. If you don't mind Yuri I think it's a great series to start off with

If you don't mind Yuri and a lot of H, there are a ton of sex scenes in every single game which makes it hard to play when there are other people in the room with you. Still you're right it's a really good series which a good focus on the start of a loving relationship, all that awkwardness about wanting to be with the person you love, getting to be with them and yet still unsure, learning how to be together, how best to show your affections.

And again the characters a great! Even in anime i've come across few as loopy and funny as Yuno or any quite as cute in their Tsundereness as Rio.
